In a star-studded ceremony featuring top society, art and media figures; signed Mohamed Al-Sagheir the first edition of his book “Days of My Life” at Four Seasons-Nile Plaza. The book tells the story of Al-Sagheir’s professional career in beauty & hair-styling during fifty years.
This is considered the first time for an Egyptian or Arab hair stylist to write his life story in a book that got translated into English and French with the support of major cosmetic companies in the world.
The signing ceremony included many surprises, and was highlighted by announcing the establishment of Mohamed Sagheir’s Foundation for Community Development, which aims to provide many services in various areas of interest to the Egyptian society
On the sidelines of the signing ceremony, and with presence of Dr. Anissa Hassouna; Executive Director of Magdi Yacoub Foundation, a cooperation protocol was announced between both institutions where all proceeds of the book in all editions will be donated to Dr. Magdi Yacoub Foundation for the treatment of children with heart problems in Aswan Hospital.
Mohamed Al-Sagheir expressed his content for signing the first edition of his book “Ayam mn Omry”-“Days of My Life,” saying “I wanted in this book to write about my life, about what I saw and felt. I write about the profession of hairdressing initiated by a young boy who was eight years old bringing scissors, brushes and combs to his master. A boy who would stay late at night after 15 hours of work to clean the shop feeling jou and pride in this very spot.
He confirmed “I remember the happiness and euphoria and also the pride of every day of my life, all the work I’ve done, every lesson learned, every penny earned, every new thing happened, every person in my life, I am writing for the young dreaming of a new future for my son Mustafa and my daughter Maha to let them know that the journey was difficult but was worth every sacrifice”
Mohamed Al-Saghir, who joined his uncle shop when he was 12, did not expect what was in store for him of fame and success. In his quest for the development of his profession, Mohammed traveled to Paris as young as twenty years old. He worked with a French hair stylist (Alexander Dobarire) who gave him experience and access to the art of hairdressing in Europe. After spending six years in the French capital, AlSageir decided to get back to Egypt and open the first of his own beauty centers.
Commenting on the ceremony, Dr. Anissa Hassouna; Executive Director of Magdi Yacoub Foundation expressed her great happiness at Dr. Mohammad’s initiative to donate his book revenues for the benefit of heart patients, noting that the organization is looking forward to cooperating with more Egyptian figures and symbols in various fields.
The ceremony was attended by a group of artists, businessmen and heads of banks. In the forefront were stars Leila Elwi Yousra, Elham Shaheen, Lebleba and Angham in addition to Director Inas ElDeghidi, Hany Behairy, Fathi Sebaey Chairman of Housing and Development Bank, and Mohammad Abbas Fayed; CEO of Bank Audi.
