Beach_wave_hairSummer is all about going to the beach and having fun. But the sun, salt & sand show no mercy on your hair and skin. They create clogged pores, dull tone and damaged locks! Hair Care is particularly important in summer because it is the time of swimming in the pool and lying out in the sun; which can be harmful to your hair. So we have rounded up a few tips to undo the summer damage on your hair:

1- Give your styling tools a vacation.

The sun is already putting too much heat on your hair, so avoid the additional heat as much as you can. Avoid using the styling iron and curlers and let your locks be as natural as possible.

2- Trimming.

Begin your summer with a new fresh trim to get rid of split hair. If you don’t want to shorten your hair, a small trim will do.

3- Hats.

Wearing hats, scarves and turbans to cover up is the best way to protect your hair during those really sunny days, especially in places where there is no shelter from the sun.

4- WATER.

Drinking plenty of water during the summer season isn’t only good for the body, but it’s beneficial to your hair as well. Water you drink replace the lost water from body and get your hair moisturized.

5- Moisturizing Moisturizing Moisturizing.

Look out for products with the tags “Replenishing”, “Hydrating” and “Moisturizing”. Avoid any styling product that contain alcohol and products that come with the tags “Volumizing” or “Bouncy”. Hair-care products such as creams, gels and sprays are ideal for keeping your hair healthy in summer.

6- Shampoo with care.

While you feel like shampooing your hair every day, doing so will cause more harm than good. Too much shampoo can dry up your scalp and hurt your hair even more. Use a nourishing shampoo to moisturize your hair and help it recover.

7- Conditioner.

If you are going for a swim, remember to put on a leave-in conditioner on your hair and wear a swimming cap. You may also leave in some of your after-shower conditioner. You don’t have to wash it all out.

8- Try a hot-oil rinse.

Coconut, olive, and avocado oils are good at penetrating the hair shaft. Shampoo hair as usual, apply in oil from ends to roots. Rinse, then condition as usual. Your hair should feel moisturized, but not greasy.
