Dear bride, enough preparing for your wedding & start preparing for your marriage
Bride: It’s only one month left. Oh my God!
Friend: Um, one month for what? One month for your Master’s final exams?
Bride: Much much more important.
Friend: Ok, ok. One month left for your next promotion?
Bride: Come on we’re talking about something really serious here
Friend: What? One month left for you to live?
Bride: Don’t be a drama queen now. The “wedding” is in one month!
Friend: I can’t believe it’s already one month; what about all the stuff you have to do, is it listed? There isn’t a minute to be wasted.
To-Do List: One Month Before the Big Day
1) Rehearse for the first dance as if she’s competing to win on So You Think You Can Dance.
2) Pay the down payment for the makeup artist.
3) Buy the shoes for the gown that won’t ever be seen even if she crosses her legs.
4) Settle the final details with the wedding planner.
Although all the above are a must do tasks my point is do you think that’s it? I mean is this what happiness means to you? Let’s complete our brides list till the wedding day and see what’s next.
To-Do List: One Week Before the Big Day
Time is running out and the list is overloaded now with “EMERGENCY” tasks:
1) Detox till the wedding day to fit into the dress.
2) Ask the groom to handle the minor tasks because men should carry some responsibility too.
3) Have a new hair cut and color. This normally requires professional research for several days.
4) Beauty care sessions to help relieve pre-wedding stress.
And here were more “must do” tasks we should never under estimate.
To-Do List: One Day to the Big Day
This day you’ll surprisingly find a hundred tasks that should be done on the bride’s to do list some of those will be stuff like:
1) Pack for the honey moon– why wasn’t this done sooner?
2) Buy a new perfume to wear on the wedding day because the guests know every single perfume you have, so it has to be totally new.
3) Go pick up the bouquet from the flower shop.
And after all most brides forget to write the only task that most probably happens on this day which is having a sleepless night reversing all the beauty and hair care sessions you did in the previous week.
Dear bride, have you ever considered that you are wasting hundreds of days in tremendous thinking and exerting effort for just a couple of hours? What about the whole new life you are about to start, what about having the most challenging experience of building a family? What about all those values? Are they not worth it even to occupy half your to do list?
If you would allow me I’d like to restructure your list & I promise I won’t remove a single task, I’ll just add some that might be life changing.
