As per previous years Ghibli Raceway and BRP Rotax, a division of Bombardier Recreational Products, present the Egyptian National Rotax MAX Challenge (ENRMC 2017) to all motivated motor-sport enthusiasts looking to develop their interest from leisure to a profession. With 216 drivers from over 55 countries represented, this is expected to be the most memorable final of all in the Rotax Grand Finals to date!
Rotax have developed a unique worldwide karting championship formula utilizing the 125cc MAX engine as its base. The Rotax MAX Challenge is an amateur kart racing series, with the winners of each country individual (RMC) championship becoming automatically eligible to participate in the annual Rotax MAX Challenge World Finals, which is due to take place in November 2017 in a surprise location.
In December 2009 Ghibli Raceway was the host of the 10th anniversary of the Rotax MAX Challenge World Finals. And this year, Ghibli Raceway has announced the availability of a seat for the winning drivers of the Micro, Junior, Senior & DD2 Master categories to compete at the next Rotax Grand Finals in late 2017 in Portimao, Portugal to represent Egypt as National Champions of their category. The winners will have Race Equipment provided for the qualified drivers which is covered by Ghibli Raceway.
The Egyptian National Rotax MAX Challenge (RMC) is organized under the auspices and patronage of the Automobile & Touring Club of Egypt (the local ASN) and the Egyptian Federation for Motor Sports (EFMS). It will see the introduction of two new race categories: the Micro Rotax category (for 8 – 12 years driving the 8th hp Rotax MAX powered karts) and the Direct Drive DD2 Master Category. This is in addition to the existing entry level Ghibli Cadet Cup (for 6 – 10 year olds), the arrive & drive race series Sodi World Series, and of course the long standing Junior & Senior RMC categories.
