November is the perfect balance of fall and winter. It’s the month of Thanksgiving when we give thanks to everything and everyone in our lives. And once it’s over, it’s the Christmas spirit all over the place. So let’s talk the highlights of the “Month of Magic”!
- It’s the Best Time of Year to Travel
Timing is the most significant factor that affects travel pricing. It is based on seasons. It’s known that winter is the low season and least expensive time to travel, but generally off-peak travel begins in November; till the end of March. Travel industry struggles to sell rooms and seats in November as most people don’t travel between November and the first couple of weeks of December. So, Good news for you travel lovers, November is the cheapest month to hit the roads.
You can get the cheapest prices on airfares, hotels and travel packages in November for the majority of destinations around the world, but there are some exceptions. In England; because of its spectacular colors in autumn, there is high demand on hotels in November. Also there are blackout dates during the off-peak season that can be more expensive, like Thanksgiving, the week of Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
Keep in mind that timing is also important when purchasing your tickets. Pricing changes at the end of the season, and you will need to book a month or two in advance. So if you are looking forward to travelling in November, you’ve got to book around August or September.

In order to highlight health issues, governmental and non-governmental entities have set certain months as raise-awareness months. November is health awareness month for several health topics!
World Diabetes Day. It’s held on the 14th of November every year to raise awareness for all forms of diabetes; explaining signs, symptoms and curing of the disease.
Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. Honor your loved ones this November, and draw attention to Alzheimer for better understanding of the disease.
Great American Smokeout event. It’s on the third Thursday of November every year across America. It challenges people to stop using tobacco and helps smokers know about the many tools they can use to help them quit and stay quit. The event publicizes the need to quit and call for laws to control tobacco and discourage teens from starting.
Lung and Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. November marks and brings the disease into focus to increase public understanding of prevalence, prevention and treatment options. It provides an opportunity for those who survived it to celebrate with loved ones, and remember those who have been lost to the disease; while raising awareness and funds.
- The Egyptian Love Day
Besides celebrating the Valentine’s Day every February 14th, Egyptians celebrate the 4th of November as the national version of the Valentine’s Day. The Egyptian Love Day was set by the journalist and writer, Mustafa Amin, who asked his readers for their choice of a specific date to celebrate Love and they chose November 4th of each year. According to the story, Mustafa Amin came up with the idea after seeing a funeral with no one attending; no one following the casket as to the Egyptian traditions. Amin was touched by the scene and he wanted to bring back the good feelings among people. The feelings of sharing love, caring, and appreciation. Unlike the Valentine’s Day, the Egyptian Love Day is a general love day, addressing all people and not limited to just couples.
Speaking of Romance and November, we get to remember “Sweet November”! The movie starring Keanu Reeves and charlize Theron tells a charming love story of an usual relationship between two who fall in love and share happy times for a month; highlighted throughout November.
