In a unique way to celebrate the UN Children’s Day, IKEA launched “Let’s Play for Change” theme aiming at raising awareness of children’s rights to play; as a part of its Good Cause Campaign!!
“We are excited to share IKEA Play Report for 2017. This year, the report highlights the importance of play for adults as well as children through key indicators: the emotional aspects of playing; the key drivers and inhibitors of play; as well as the emerging trends affecting the future of play”, IKEA Family Manager, Doaa Hashim, said commenting on the campaign..
IKEA Campaign Activities
The launched campaign included child psychology & story-telling workshops, a children drawing competition, and a huge Mural painting. IKEA child psychology workshop was presented by Psychologist Amina Diab where she addressed the importance of playing for kids and the physical, emotional social, psychological, and cognitive impacts of such brushed off activity.
The ‘Play Therapy’ workshop highlighted ‘Social Influences on Genders in Play’ and ‘Play and Technology’. It was led using different engagement techniques with mothers including Role Plays.
The IKEA Campaign also included the story-telling workshops, which was led by Mai Abdel Hady. Twenty kinds from Mansheyat Torrah had fun participating at the different workshops and finally coloring a very big mural that displays Egypt’s qualification to the 2018 World Cup.
