The launch of Maserati’s first-ever SUV took place during the opening ceremony of MTI group’s first show room and service center in Cairo. The all-new Maserati Levante, a turning point in Maserati’s history, is put to display in the new showroom that includes a reception lounge for clients, a section for Maserati merchandise and a configuration area where clients will have the opportunity to customize their cars to suit their requirements.
The name Levante was inspired by a warm, Mediterranean wind that can change from mild to gale force in an instant, mirroring the character of the first Maserati SUV. The Levante is based on the evolution of the sedan platform, designed exclusively by Maserati. The car chassis has been specifically developed to offer unique on-road drivability and competitive off-road capability, with day-to-day comfort and practicality. The Levante’s design brings a new concept to the SUV world, combining spaciousness and coupé lines while achieving the best aerodynamic efficiency in its segment with a Cx coefficient of just 0.31.
“It is a historic day for us in Maserati Egypt, as we are opening our new facility in Cairo with the launch of the Maserati Levante. This is the first ever SUV by Maserati, so it is a complete game-changer, particularly in this region. Maserati is renowned for exotic sports cars, so our mission was not just to build an SUV model, but to build a Maserati”, said Mr. Mohamed Kandeel, Managing Director of Maserati Egypt.
The celebration ceremony was also attended by Mr. Umberto Cini, the Managing Director of Maserati Middle East, India and Africa. Spanning over 1,400 meter square, the new 3S facility is in-line with Maserati’s corporate identity standards. The facility is divided into three levels, and has the capacity to display six vehicles and the service center has five dedicated work bays.
