Relationships are not all about hangouts, valentines and butterflies.. well or that’s at least the Justin Bieber version. True relationships are not just all about moments of paradise and joy. As a matter of fact good relationships have those negative feelings as much as they have positive ones. Only, the negatives aren’t negative in the way you’ve experienced them before.

They are experienced in a rather different way…You feel sad, but it’s sorrow that comes from deep yearning…You feel scared, but for the first time, it’s a fear that comes when you’re completely and utterly dependent on someone else….You feel blind, but you can see perfectly….You feel empty; because for the first time, you’re giving so much away.

These feelings aren’t talked about often because, without context, they sound off-putting. But the best relationships are the ones that experience those feelings, and are certainly the ones that last. Here are the roller-coaster feelings that mean you are experiencing a true-lasting relationship:

It should make you feel… NERVOUS
You feel nervous and off the hock when your other half doesn’t call you for an hour. And it makes you lose your mind, if this went for a few days. You feel nervous when you miss him or her and can’t do anything about it. Let me state that, this only explains that you are only madly in love with your precious one.

It should make you feel… TIRED
Tired being worried, tired from spending time discovering the flaws of each other — digging into one another’s core.
Tired from giving everything you have to this one person.

It should make you feel… UNCOMFORTABLE
Exposing yourself should be uncomfortable, however, that uncomfortable moment is quickly replaced with relief, as you watch your partner accept your worst self and all those things you thought you could never show anyone.

It should make you feel… SAD
Sad, is the feeling you get after a long, long fight with your partner. And after it ends, you sometimes feel cruel or guilty for the tears you have caused to either them or yourself. Actually, let’s hint this out, those fights set out guidelines for your life, so technically those tears are none other than the water the seeds your relationship.

It should make you feel… ANGRY
True relationships come with the most aggressive arguments and heated discussions of rage, but let’s face it those are only side effects of passion. The fights, however, are never with no purpose. Healthy couples don’t fight for drama or attention but for a resolution.
There’s very common statement to that “You can’t enjoy the highs unless you’ve experienced the lows”.

It should make you feel… UNEASY
You expose yourself much during a relationship and that should be uneasy at the beginning. Those who can show themselves at their worst moments, sit there with their mask off and reveal their true selves are what we call true couples. Feel uneasy, never fake. At the end of the day he/she is your other half, so don’t be afraid to show your true self.

It should make you feel… NAIVE
A relationship isn’t about having it right, but realizing you can be wrong. It’s about learning, growing and understanding you don’t know everything. It’s about everything you have to teach and, more so, learn from your partner. The two of you can explore the world together, letting the lessons and experiences bring you even closer.

It should make you feel… VULNERABLE
Now, that your heart belongs to somebody else, vulnerable is a small word to the feelings you experience. This vulnerability fade through time, when there’s trust in place. Nevertheless, it’s a proven fact that you can’t truly love someone without slightly fearing them.
