In his pre-spring bag collection, Vara Rainbow, Salvatore Ferragamo made sure to combine a sense of modernity with the brand’s legacy and geometric designs. That’s why the new collection of Salvatore Ferragamo’s bags features luxurious designs through ultra-feminine palette of Opal, Begonia, BonBon, and Black for calfskin models, and Red for patent leather bags, with the addition of a vara bow ornament!
The Vara Bow History
The vara bow ornament was originally designed in 1978 with the iconic shoe style. Then, Salvatore and Wanda Ferragamo’s eldest daughter, Fiamma, brought back the astonishing ornament with a modern style and design. The Vara Rainbow collection comes 40 years after the original design was presented to connect past, present and future.
“When it came out,” said Fiamma in an interview on the original Vara pump, “the boutique line didn’t have a model that was both sporty and elegant.” The Vara Rainbow designs, with sophisticated and innovative style, commemorated Salvatore’s prominent past and presented his future dream to dress ladies “toe to head”, as Salvatore’s brand first displayed shoe, then accessories and ready-to-wear.
