Egyptian team Secures 2nd place at Global Cyber Drill – Dubai

The Egyptian team has clinched second place among 108 countries at the Global Cyber Drill, a very prestigious cybersecurity competition that’s held under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Dubai.

The event took place from April 23 to 25 and was organized by the ITU and the Abu Dhabi Cyber Security Council.

The Egyptian team, EG-CERT, was invited to participate in the Global Cyber Drill by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NRTA).

The team faced stiff competition from strong nations like Italy, Turkey, Korea, India, Pakistan, Singapore, and Malaysia.

On the first day of the drill, the Egyptian team emerged victorious out of 108 participating teams in a scenario titled “Team’s Ability to Respond to Incidents and Hunt Advanced Persistent Threats.” The top five teams were Egypt, Albania, Bahrain, Armenia, and Turkey.

The Egyptian team maintained its impressive performance, securing fourth place on the second day of the drill. The scenario was titled “Cyber Criminal Tracking,” and the scores of the top four teams were very close.

As a result of their outstanding overall performance, the Egyptian team was awarded second place across all cyber drills. The top three countries were Albania, Egypt, and Turkey.
