Releasing its annual report on the most popular searches on its engine, Google has announced Exams, Mo. Salah & World Cup as the most trending searches in Google Egypt this year!
This annual report of Google is basically covering the most popular searches of people, events, sports stars, performances, songs, TV shows and series in the country. The data is collected from the world’s trillions of searches (or questions) through Google’s engine. And after filtering the lists of spam content and repeated questions; findings are believed to effectively reflect the reality of what the Egyptians were interested in during the year.
As was the case last year, the results of the school examinations topped the search for the second year in a row, while the Egyptian player Mohamed Salah was at the top of the list of public figures followed on and constantly searched by Egyptians. Sports has dominated many searches this year, with the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the Egyptian participating, with inquiries on Egypt vs Russia, and Egypt vs Saudi Arabia being the most searched this year. While the list of sports personalities included coach Ramon Diaz and Abdullah Al-Saeed.
Local events, such as the knowledge of the electoral commission and the Cairo Film Festival, dominated the list of events searched this year while The World Cup and the French demonstrations were the only international events on the list. Concerning the list of TV series, it’s safe to say that it was dominated by the search for the series Nesr El Saeed and Egypt’s Theater’s (Masrah Masr) third season.
